Cycling is taking over the world. Public bike sharing schemes already inhabit most of Europe and are peppered across the US. More than an alternative means of transport, riding a bike is a social and political imperative.
Now in New York an even more sophisticated system will be tested this fall: the SoBi. The idea of a “Social Bicycle” means that with mobile technology and GPS, cyclists can locate available bikes in their area, unlock bikes, track their CO2 emissions offset, and connect with other cyclists. All part of the Pepsi Refresh campaign.
